Our Image of the Month for April shows a Black woman with hair made up of GC-MS traces for melanin. The artist, Luis Schachner, was inspired to create this piece by the lack of representation, equity and inclusion still present in research. But this blurring of art and science is just one example of Luis’ work - keep an eye out for our longer feature in May where we’ll be showcasing more of his art! We’ve also got some quick reads for you this week, and an interview with ASMS president Susan Richardson - enjoy!
