Automated DNPH cartridge elution and HPLC-DAD or LC-MS determination of Carbonyl compounds

Completely automated elution, eluate filtration, and determination of 2,4-DNPH derivatives of airborne aldehydes and ketones by HPLC-DAD and LC-MS/MS is presented. Performance evaluation and calibration data for several compounds are reported along with analysis results and resulting precision data based on sampling of air and material emissions from representative matrices.

Fast and flexible sampling of chemicals and odours released from materials and foods

Why do people use and love Markes’ Micro-Chamber – a compact, stand-alone unit for the rapid, method-compliant screening of chemicals emitted from a wide variety of products, materials and foodstuffs? It is used in numerous industries from automotive, building products and consumer goods to food & drink Watch this video to find out…

Continuous on-line monitoring of PAMS hydrocarbons (ozone precursors) and polar VOCs in ambient air by TD-GC-MS

Describing validation of thermal desorption (TD)–GC–MS for on-line monitoring of an extended range of very volatile species in ambient air, which includes ‘ozone precursors’ (as specified by the US PAMS program), polar compounds and monoterpenes. In addition to analysis of a 61-component standard mix and a real air sample, low method detection limits using the new trap-based Kori-xr system for eliminating water from the air stream are demonstrated.

Exploring the Value of GPC/SEC in Polysaccharide Characterization

This article examines the information that can be generated using the latest GPC/SEC technology, which brings the sensitivity needed to differentiate similar polysaccharide samples, and the complementary application of flow injection polymer analysis (FIPA), which facilitates application of GPC/ SEC in the manufacturing environment.

A Basic Introduction to Rheology

There are a number of rheometric tests that can be performed on a rheometer to determine flow properties and viscoelastic properties of a material and it is often useful to deal with them separately. The first part of this introduction will focus on flow and viscosity and the tests that can be used to measure and describe the flow behavior of both simple and complex fluids. In the second part deformation and viscoelasticity will be discussed.
