Aromas are chemically very diverse, imparting a wide range of sensations. Conventional analytical technologies based on chromatography are slow. By instead applying direct analysis with soft chemical ionization, selected ion flow tube mass spectrometry (SIFT-MS) provides fast, sensitive and robust quantitation of aroma compounds in air at trace levels.
Using the Power Law Model to Quantify Shear Thinning Behavior on a Rotational Rheometer
A material’s rheological properties not only influences its visual and textural perception, but also affects its processing capabilities. For instance, compared to Newtonian materials, shear-thinning materials are more susceptible to applied stress.
An improved method for the analysis of Carbohydrates in instant coffee is described using the ALEXYS Analyzer. The method is based on HPAEC-PAD using a narrow bore column and a low volume flow cell (SenCell). A 16 fold increase in sensitivity and a 50% shorter analysis time was achieved.
