Instrument you couldn’t live without? The humble mobile phone. We have turned to using the cameras embedded in our smartphones as detection devices. We are using these when developing analytical measurement systems for Citizen Science at the river-bank and for farmers in the field.
Predictions? Diagnostics will play a bigger role. Home diagnostics, fast diagnostics, robust diagnostic tests - the COVID crisis has brought their importance to the forefront, and we are likely to see much more activity here in the future.
