X. Chris Le
Distinguished University Professor and Director, Analytical and Environmental Toxicology Division, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, the University of Alberta, Canada
Chris Le’s interdisciplinary research focuses on the development and applications of analytical techniques for studies of human health effects arising from environmental exposure. His team develops chemical speciation techniques that enable characterization of arsenic species, assessment of human exposure, and understanding of molecular mechanisms of arsenic toxicity. His development of DNA-protein binding assays, isothermal and signal amplification techniques, and improvements in CRISPR techniques, advance studies of DNA damage and repair, environmental carcinogenesis, gene editing, and molecular interactions.
