One of the issues I faced in the past was how to keep instruments running whilst maintaining a clean detection system for reliable results.
Historically we used brass nuts with graphite or graphite/vespel ferrules which have very different thermal expansion coefficients. We had many leaks coming from these different combinations of materials and their expansions.
With SilTite Metal Ferrules a leak-free connection is maintained even after temperature cycling, because the nuts and ferrules are made of the same material. These ferrules are easy to install and I know that I would obtain the correct results time after time without retightening.
