With the ED743, a gold electrode can be selected. Gold electrodes analyze sugars with higher sensitivity than RI and fluorescence detectors. A pulse potential is repeatedly applied to measure while removing dirt from the electrode surface. Using a diamond electrode, which has a wider potential range than common electrodes, even compounds with high redox potential, like disulfides, can be measured. By applying a very high potential to the diamond electrode, deposits on the electrode surface can be removed. Therefore, unlike conventional working electrodes, highly reproducible data can be obtained without complicated operations like removing from the flow cell and polishing.
