Analysis of Catecholamines in Urine and Plasma
Introduction
The quantitative determination of the catecholamines Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, and Dopamine in urine and plasma is the preferred analytical method for initial diagnosis of several rare cancer tumor diseases in the body. Higher than normal levels of catecholamines in plasma and urine typically indicate the presence of tumors such as pheochromocytoma or ganglioneuroma. The Antec Scientific ALEXYS Clinical Analyzer offers fast and accurate analytical results for routine analysis of catecholamines, metanephrines and other metabolites such as VMA, HVA and 5-HIAA.
