Despite the ever-growing potential of MS analysis in countless fields, historical barriers to adoption remain a persistent issue. Given the high selectivity and specificity afforded by mass-selective detection versus, or in combination with, alternative detection methods, expanding MS access is an important goal. Proactive system monitoring to reduce downtime and streamlined interfacing to facilitate non-expert use could save labs valuable time and money. But could these systems come at improved cost, too?
