Meet Georgios Theodoridis

The secret to a successful interdisciplinary collaboration?Multidisciplinary work in life sciences requires effective collaboration, communication, and fostering a shared vision among team members from different disciplines. It is important to respect the varying viewpoints and backgrounds of the collaborators and understand that efficient fusion of perspectives and approaches can generate innovative solutions. Setting clear and shared common goals and direct, straight communication is necessary to bridge language or knowledge gaps.

Most exciting development or trend? There is a strong trend in bringing LC-MS technology into the clinical lab. I’m sure that the biochemical lab of the future will look very different – moving away from the current arsenal (assays) and towards LC-MS(MS).

A problem interdisciplinarians should tackle? Understanding the biochemistry of non-communicable diseases with the application of advanced analytical technologies and big data mining. Omics fields are key in such aspects.
