In this supplement, we explore a range of applications for Shimadzu’s CLAM-2000 automated sample preparation solution for LC-MS. CLAM-2000 was the first system to fully automate every step from pretreatment of the sample to LC-MS analysis, which led to its recognition in The Analytical Scientist Innovation Awards in 2016. The independent judging panel said: “Sample preparation is the biggest challenge in most analytical methods. Automation is key to addressing this challenge – especially for biological samples.” The articles within describe the use of CLAM-2000 in diverse settings, from university hospitals to private testing labs analyzing blood, serum and urine samples.
