GC×GC Goes Virtual

By Lauren Robertson 05/06/2021 1 min read

In our last issue, we interviewed key attendees and organizers of the annual ISCC/GC×GC meeting to see how they felt about this beloved conference being canceled for the second year in a row. We are now pleased to share the news that the GC×GC Symposium will be going ahead as a virtual event, with a host of speakers already confirmed.

Here’s what the Scientific and Organization Committees of the GC×GC Symposium had to say:

“The 18th International GC×GC Symposium was originally scheduled to be a combined face-to-face meeting with the 44th International Symposium on Capillary Chromatography. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has prevented us from meeting in person for a second consecutive year. The Scientific and Organization Committees for the GC×GC Symposium met in early January to assess the possibility of an online meeting, and after many deliberations have decided to organize this meeting for the week of June 7-11 2021. The link to the symposium’s website is www.gcxgc-symposium.com, where more information can be found about the event. Registration is free, but it is necessary in order to obtain the information to access the virtual platform.

It is our hope that attendees from around the world will mark this event on their calendars to participate in the vibrant presentations, discussion of ideas and exchanges of viewpoints that have been the hallmark of past GC×GC symposia. We look forward to seeing you there!”

About the Author(s)

Lauren Robertson

By the time I finished my degree in Microbiology I had come to one conclusion – I did not want to work in a lab. Instead, I decided to move to the south of Spain to teach English. After two brilliant years, I realized that I missed science, and what I really enjoyed was communicating scientific ideas – whether that be to four-year-olds or mature professionals. On returning to England I landed a role in science writing and found it combined my passions perfectly. Now at Texere, I get to hone these skills every day by writing about the latest research in an exciting, creative way.
