Pesticides – From analytical standards to certified reference materials

Certified reference materials (CRMs) are an essential part of quality assurance, and laboratories accredited according to ISO 17025 need to use CRMs on a regular basis to prove their quality. However, the big challenge is traceability – for organic compounds, only a very limited number of CRMs from metrological institutes are available. This webinar will describe a routine certification procedure using the example of pesticide standards from the point of view of a commercial producer of CRMs and will include specific selection criteria, pre-tests, experimental conditions, homogeneity and stability studies. Several examples of pesticide standard certification will also be shown.

Learning Objectives of Webinar

  • Understand the key benefits of using qNMR as a measurement method for the purity determination of pesticide standards.
  • Understand the certification procedure for a CRM with qNMR including the selection criteria, pre-tests, experimental conditions, homogeneity and stability studies
  • Learn about the advantages of an accelerated stability study over the classical stability-test design with respect to shelf-life determination and shipping conditions.
